At Lake Constance, Bregenz, Austria.
Have been invited to the famous Bregenz festival. We haven been there twice already. It’s an international festival showing the biggest and most famous operas on earth. It is every year. The open festival stage is built directly into the lake surrounded with water and looks incredible and very unique. James Bond’s Casino Royale in 2006 highlighted this amazing one to the younger generation, too.
It is always a pleasure to be part of it. This year runs George Bizet’s opera “Carmen” of 1875. Very excited, haven’t seen before. A lot of music songs are well known to everybody. If you hear them, you know, what we mean.
Unfortunately we’ve been very unlucky with the weather. Heavy rain hit us during the show, but the whole audience had been fully prepared and took over some rainwear. No problem… as far as they don’t stop the show… but we got lucky and could enjoy until the end. The stage is a very high tech monster and a lot of parts are moveable and will change during the show. The actors got wet by design using the Lake Constance’s water to combine it with their performance.
Thanks a lot to everybody. Best show we have seen so far.
Before arriving at the festival’s area we have been to the famous local mountain Pfänder, which gives you an incredible view over Bregenz and the lake. There is also a very special restaurant with maybe one of the best “Kässpätzle” (noodles with cheese, local meal, very traditional!) in the world! My god, they have been good.
Enjoy.
