This was awesome. Spent 2 weeks there and we had such a great time. The weather and the beauty of the island is incredible. Because of lots of rain Mauritius is very green and full of nature. This makes it so gorgeous. Our Resort, Lux Belle Mare, was unbelievable. They offered only premium and there was nothing to complain at all. We discovered the island by car and saw lots of cool historical places including the Capital City Port Louis. Very nice indeed.
Have a look at Chamarel, too. The seven coloured earth is a natural phenomenon and a prominent tourist attraction. The colors evolved through conversion of basaltic lava to clay minerals. It is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colours (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow). Beautiful!
Hinduism is the largest religion with over 670,000 adherents, representing approximately 51.9% of the total 1.3 million population of the country. This makes the Mauritius islands in the Indian Ocean as the country having highest percentage of Hindus in Africa and third highest percentage in the world after Nepal and India. Mangal Mahadev, a 33-metre statue of Shiva in Grand Bassin at the Ganga Talao Lake was breathtaking. Has been very interesting to touch base with this religion.
All in all it is a MUST to visit Mauritius Island. Go there and just relax and enjoy the beauty of this place.
